Khanapara(Meghalaya), Oct 6: In a major boost to medical education in the Northeast, the University of Science and Technology Meghalaya (USTM) has secured approval from the National Medical Commission (NMC) for its PA Sangma International Medical College (PIMC), a joint venture with the Government of Meghalaya.
The NMC approval allows PIMC to admit 150 MBBS students, marking a significant step forward in addressing the region’s healthcare needs. USTM’s Founder Chancellor, Mahbubul Hoque, hailed the development as “historic” and a testament to the university’s commitment to quality education.
“We are proud to contribute to the healthcare sector through PIMC,” said Mahbubul Hoque. “This approval is a crucial step in our journey to provide world-class medical education.”
With PIMC, USTM aims to provide quality medical education, address regional healthcare needs and foster research and innovation.
