Shillong (Meghalaya), Nov 5: The State Level Youth Exchange Programme 2024 has commenced in Shillong, bringing together 500 talented young individuals from 12 districts of Meghalaya. This exciting event, from Nov 4th to 7th, promises a week of cultural interaction, idea exchange, learning, and talent showcase under the theme ‘Today’s Youth-Tomorrow’s Leader.
Highlights of the Programme:
Cultural Interaction: Exchange of traditions and cultures from different tribes of Meghalaya
Idea Exchange: Sharing of ideas and experiences among participants

Talent Showcase: Platform for participants to showcase their skills and talents
The programme is organized by the Directorate of Sports & Youth Affairs, Meghalaya, and aims to nurture Meghalaya’s youth and foster friendships among them. D.D Shira, Director of Sports and Youth Affairs, attended the inaugural ceremony as the chief guest and emphasized the importance of such initiatives.
The state government has increased its budget allocation for youth development by 11% in 2024-25, with a total expenditure of ₹ 2853.29 Crores. This investment will support initiatives like the State Level Youth Exchange Programme, empowering young individuals to become leaders and change-makers in their communities.
