Shillong (Meghalaya), Dec 6: Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma attended the 2nd Climate Investments and Technology Impact Summit held at Meghalaya House, New Delhi, on Thursday, Dec 5.
The summit focused on innovative technological solutions and green investment approaches to combat climate change and promote sustainable development.
Speaking at the summit, Chief Minister Sangma highlighted Meghalaya’s unique strengths, including its diverse agroclimatic zones, high-value tourism potential, and agri-based industries. He also emphasized the state’s vulnerability to climate change due to its significant annual rainfall, stressing the need for a comprehensive understanding of these challenges and the development of effective solutions.
The summit is part of Meghalaya’s efforts to address climate change and promote sustainable development. The state has already taken steps to tackle the climate crisis, including the establishment of the Meghalaya Climate Change Centre ² and the development of a State Climate Change Action Plan.
