Shillong (Meghalaya), Oct 24: The State government has taken a significant step towards enhancing public convenience and administration in the state by establishing a new police station and three police outposts. The new police station, Dakopgre Police Station, will be operational in the West Garo Hills District, covering areas that were previously under the jurisdiction of Tura Police Station.
The boundaries of the Dakopgre Police Station have been defined, with Damalgre PS to the north, Babadam OP to the east, Tura PS to the south, and Araimile PS to the west.
In addition to the new police station, three new police outposts have been set up in different districts. Maweit Police Outpost in West Khasi Hills District and Ashugre and Jadi Police Outposts in South Garo Hills District will become operational soon, with their respective jurisdictions notified. The establishment of these new police stations and outposts is expected to improve law and order in the region and provide better services to the public.
