Shillong (Meghalaya), Sep1: Rangdajied United finally got their Shillong Premier League 2025 campaign off the ground with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Nongrim Hills at the SSA Stadium. The match was an intense and entertaining affair, with both teams creating numerous scoring opportunities throughout the 90 minutes.
The breakthrough came in the 74th minute when Nongrim Hills defender Shanborlang Thangkhiew inadvertently put the ball into his own net while trying to shield it from Rangdajied’s Manbhalang Iawphniaw after a cross from Bantiplang Khongnoh. The own goal proved to be the decisive moment in the match, handing Rangdajied all three points.
The win takes Rangdajied United from ninth to fifth place in the table with four points, while Nongrim Hills are left struggling at the bottom with three losses from three matches. The match saw some great saves, including a diving stop from Nongrim goalkeeper Ebenson Warbah to deny Menangpyngdap Khongjee in the 68th minute. Despite their best efforts, Nongrim Hills were unable to find an equalizer, and Rangdajied’s defense held strong to secure the win.
