Shillong (Meghalaya), Sep 29: Nangkiew Irat has stormed back to the top of the Shillong Premier League 2025 standings with a resounding 5-0 victory over Malki at the SSA Stadium. The winning team’s impressive performance saw them dominate the match from start to finish, with goals from Ronaldkydon L Nonglait, Jefferson Pakyntein, Wallamsuk Nongkhlaw, Himanshu Patil, and Banshanlang Nongdhar.
Malki had the first real chances, with Elishar Ryntathiang forcing Nangkiew Irat goalkeeper Surjay Kumar Pariyar into a sharp save in the 17th minute. However, it was Nangkiew Irat who took the lead just before halftime, with Ronaldkydon’s precise finish. The floodgates opened in the second half, with Jefferson scoring after Malki goalie Franklin’s error, followed by goals from Wallamsuk and Himanshu.
The match ended with a penalty kick being converted by Banshanlang Nongdhar in stoppage time, after Wallamsuk was fouled in the box. Malki’s only notable opportunity in the second half came via Justerwell Tham, who hit the upright in the 86th minute.
With this win, Nangkiew Irat now sits atop the standings with 13 points, one point ahead of Mawlai, who has a game in hand. Malki remains in eighth place with 6 points, just above the relegation zone. This is the third time this season that Malki has conceded five goals in a match.
