Tura (Meghalaya), March 26 : Agatha K. Sangma, the ruling National People’s Party candidate, has submitted her nomination from the Tura Lok Sabha constituency on Tuesday.
She is the sitting MP from the Tura Lok Sabha seat.
Agatha Sangma was accompanied by her brother and Meghalaya CM Conrad K. Sangma and her mother Soradini K. Sangma, her husband, Dr Patrick Marak. She was the second candidate to file her nomination after Congress MLA, Saleng A Sangma filed his papers earlier today, March 26. during the nomination process.
She filed her nomination in front of the Returning Officer, Jagdish Chelani.
Many top leaders of NPP including State president & Deputy CM Prestone Tynsong were also present there.
The Tura Lok Sabha seat is likely to witness a triangular contest as the Trinamool Congress has also fielded a candidate here. Congress had earlier announced candidates for this seat. BJP has decided to support both the NPP candidates in the state .
