Shillong (Meghalaya), Sep 1: The State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) in Meghalaya, in a joint operation with the Search & Rescue Team (SRT) of the Fire & Emergency Services (F&ES), recovered the dead body of a youth who was swept away by strong currents in the Weiniangriang River in Mawtap village, Sohiong, East Khasi Hills district.
The recovery efforts were initiated early in the morning after the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) East Khasi Hills activated the SDRF.

After a thorough search, the dead body was recovered in the afternoon and handed over to the police. The SDRF’s expertise and collaboration with other authorities played a crucial role in the recovery of the body.
