Shillong (Meghalaya), Dec 9 : The Meghalaya State Legal Services Authority organised the National Lok Adalat today, December 2023, in all the districts of the State under the aegis of the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA).

In the National Lok Adalat, 595 Pre-Litigation cases and 384 pending cases were taken up for settlement. Total number of cases taken up was 979, of which 177 cases were settled for a total amount of 1,20,98,568/-(Rupees One crore twenty lakhs ninety-eight thousand five hundred and sixty-eight) only.
Lok Adalat is held on a single day all across the nation. It is a forum where the disputes or cases pending or at pre-litigation stage are settled amicably by two or more disputing parties mutually.
