Relatives suspect foul play, claiming he was abducted and forced into a car near Police Bazar on September 19. Saumitra, an ATM technician, leaves behind a wife and two-year-old child. Ri Bhoi police investigate, while family members suspect drug addicts’ involvement.
Ri Bhoi Superintendent of Police Jagpal Singh Dhanoa has provided an update on the investigation into Saumitra Chakraborty’s death. According to SP Dhanoa, the postmortem has been completed, and they’re now awaiting the report to determine the next course of action. He assured that all angles will be probed, and evidence will be collected to build a strong case, potentially converting it to a murder investigation if the findings suggest so.
The police are leaving no stone unturned, exploring various possibilities, including the involvement of drug addicts, as suspected by the victim’s family.
