Imphal (Manipur), Oct 31 : Moreh SDPO Chingtham Anand Singh was shot dead by suspected Kuki militants at Eastern Ground at around 9.30 am today.
Sources said that a sniper shot bullet hit fatally. He was overseeing the cleaning of Eastern ground for helicopter landing when the sniper shot him. DSP Anand succumbed to his wounds and passed away at Moreh.
Suspected Kuki Militants ambushed Moreh Police at Moreh Ward No. 7 Eastern Shine School Ground While the Police team were playing football at the ground. SDPO of Moreh Ch. Anand Kumar was seriously injured in his stomach and the bullet passed through his stomach.
Meanwhile, cross- firing is going on at Indo-Myanmar Border Town Moreh between State Forces and Suspected Kuki Militants.
As per report from Moreh Police Station, the ambush plan was for Superintendent of Special Commando but accidentally SDPO CH Anand got injured and later he passed away at 10:15 am .
