Shillong (Meghalaya ), June 9 : After thorough deliberations with Power Minister James Sangma, Power Department and Meghalaya Energy Corporation Limited, the Cabinet today has decided to extend 100% budgetary support from the State’s development budget to MeECL for repayment of the Atmanirbhar loan with the commitment that certain reforms will be made by MeECL.
The provision of the support by Meghalaya Government will come along with certain targets that need to be met by MeECL in a time-bound manner, while also ensuring some kind of security to Government of Meghalaya in terms of mortgage of assets.
