Shillong (Meghalaya), Feb 3: Meghalaya is making a bold move to become a major export hub in the Northeast, with the launch of the Reverse Buyer-Seller Meet (RBSM) 2026. Over 300 MSMEs and buyers from 15 countries are gathering to explore business opportunities and showcase the state’s unique products.
Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma unveiled the ‘MeghaRise’ brand and State MSME Portal, emphasizing the state’s focus on sustainable growth and partnerships. “We are here to build partnerships, not just do business,” he said.
The event features B2B meetings, exhibitions, and high-level networking sessions, highlighting Meghalaya’s Lakadong turmeric, organic honey, and bamboo crafts. With its fertile soil and pure water, the state is poised to tap into the global demand for organic products.
Deputy Chief Minister Sniawbhalang Dhar called RBSM 2026 a “landmark initiative,” while Chief Secretary Dr. Shakil P. Ahammed emphasized the state’s potential for high-value agricultural products. The event is expected to set a new benchmark for trade promotion in the Northeast, with the state aiming for a $10 billion economy by 2028.
