Shillong (Meghalaya), Nov 20 : 2 more Covid patients including a doctor succumbed to their infections taking the death toll to 106 while 173 new Covid cases were detected in the state today .
According to official sources , Limos S Majaw aged 77 years hailing from Pynthorbah locality here was detected Covid-positive on Monday and was admitted to Dr H Gordon Roberts Hospital. He passed away on Thursday afternoon. The cause of his death was acute respiratory distress syndrome, hypertension, hypothyroidism and moderate anaemia.
Dr Paitbha Syngkon aged 66 years from Jowai tested positive on Thursday and was admitted to Woodland Hospital here . The retired government doctor passed away the same evening. His cause of death was Covid-19 pneumonia with Type 2 diabetes, hypertension and coronary artery disease.
Meanwhile , 173 new Covid cases were detected in the state today taking the state tally to 11,152 .
The new positive cases included 97 from East Khasi Hills district (High risk- 43,Armed Force/Paramilitary Force – 05,ILI Case – 03,Happy Valley Cluster – 02,Health Worker – 07,Jail Road Cluster – 01,Lumparing Cluster – 01,Madanrting cluster- 02,Mawlai Kynton Massar Cluster – 01,Mawlai Nongkwar Cluster – 01,Mawlai Umthlong Cluster – 11,Nongmynsong Cluster – 01,Nongrim Cluster – 01,Nongthymmai Cluster – 04,Police Personnel – 01,Returnee – 06,Rilbong Cluster – 03,SARI Case – 01 and Umpling Cluster – 03), 60 from West Garo Hills district (High risk- 18,Cherangre Cluster – 24,ILI Case- 01,Dobasipara – 02,Screening Purpose – 02,Returnee – 01 and St Peter School – 12), 08 South Garo Hills district (High risk- 01,Police Personnel- 01 and Siju Damikgittim Cluster – 06), 04 ILI case from East Jaintia Hills district, 02 from East Garo Hills district ( high risk- 01 and Returnee – 01), o1 from Ri Bhoi district (Armed Force/Paramilitary Force) and 01 from South West Garo Hills District (Armed Force/Paramilitary Force).
A total of 84 patients were declared recovered today .
