Shillong (Meghalaya), Dec 2 : Two more Covid patients succumbed to their infections at NEIGRIHMS in Shillong taking the death toll in the state to 114 .
According to sources , the patients have been identified as Pyrkhat Dkhar aged 55 years from Jowai in West Jaintia Hills,. He was tested Covid-positive on Nov 3 and was admitted to NEIGRIHMS on Nov 8 and passed away on Nov 28.
The Cause of death was refractory septic shock with Covid-19 pneumonia, coronary artery disease and hypothyroidism.
The other patient has been identified as Mani Bhadra Chakma aged 66 years from Tripura, He was admitted to NEIGRIHMS on Nov 19 after testing positive and passed away on Nov 28.
The cause of death was Type 1 respiratory failure with multi-organ dysfunction syndrome, Covid pneumonia, hypertension, chronic kidney disease and diabetes.
On Wednesday, 79 new cases were detected in the state taking the state tally to 11, 954 . Among the new cases 53 were reported from East Khasi Hills, 23 from West Garo Hills, and 1 each from East Jaintia Hills , West Jaintia Hills and Ri -Bhoi .
A total of 60 patients were declared recovered today .
