Shillong (Meghalaya), July 17 : The 185 th Death Anniversary of the immortial Khasi warrior , U Tirot Sing Syiem was observed across the state today .
State Chief Minister , Conrad Sangma payed homage to U Tirot Sing Syiem, the great freedom fighter of Meghalaya who fought relentlessly till his last breath to prevent Khasi Hills from falling into the hands of the British colonizers.
The CM also presented the U Tirot Sing Syiem Youth Achievement Award to Kitboklang Nogphlang, Scarlett Lawriniang, Pranab Pariat, Empower Warbah and Andreas H. Marwein.
The programme was organised to mark the 185th Death Anniversary of our freedom fighter, U Tirot Sing Syiem.
The CM appreciated the efforts of the National People’s Youth Front (NPYF) for organising the programme and their recommendation for the Draft Youth Policy.
