Shillong (Meghalaya), Nov 5 : One more Covid patient succumbed to his infections taking the death toll due to Covid in the state to 91 .
The patient has been identified as Santosh Pradhan aged 52 years hailing from Lachumiere area here . He was admitted to hospital on Oct 26 after testing positive for the corona virus and passed away on Wednesday .
The cause of his death was due to refractory shock with multi-organ dysfunction syndrome, Covid pneumonia, Type 2 diabetes and hypertension.
Meanwhile , 92 new Covid cases were detected in the state today taking the state tally to 9,893 .
Among the new cases 22 were reported from East Khasi Hills , 18 from West Jaintia Hills,17 from East Garo Hills, 9 from West Garo Hills, 6 from South West Garo Hills, 5 from Ri Bhoi and 1 from North Garo Hills .
A total of 61 patients were declared recovered today .
