Imphal (Manipur), July 16 :The Covid-19 situation in Manipur continued to be grim in condition as infection count for the past 24 hours exceeded 1,000 for the three consecutive days.
The state reported 10 COVID death in the past 24 hours taking the death toll to 1,350.
The state Health department on Friday recorded 1,128 new positive cases, taking the overall infection tally of the state to 82,688.
On Wednesday, the state recorded 1,104 cases, the highest ever daily spike registered in the state since the pandemic hit the state in March last year.
A total of 643 patients were discharged today after they recovered from the viral infection, pushing the recovery tally of the state to 72,305. The recovery rate stood at 87.44 per cent. Currently, the state has 9,033 active cases.
Meanwhile, with the vaccination pace in the state picking up in the last few days, 27,282 doses were administered on Friday, taking the total number of doses administered to 9,83,206.
