Shillong ( Meghalaya), March 12 : The All India Trinamool Congress under the guidance of Chairperson Smt. Mamata Banerjee announced the name of Zenith Sangma as AITC’s candidate from the Parliamentary Constituency of Tura (ST) seat in Meghalaya, the party said on Tuesday.
Zenith Sangma is the brother of Senior Trinamool Congress leader and former Chief Minister Dr. Mukul Sangma.
In 2023, Sangma faced defeat against National People’s Party (NPP) candidate Subhir Marak from the Rangsakona constituency in the Meghalaya assembly election.
In a post on X, TMC said, “AITC under the guidance and inspiration of Hon’ble Chairperson Smt. @MamataOfficial, we are pleased to announce the @AITC4Meghalaya candidate from the Parliamentary Constituency of Tura (ST) seat”.
