Dimapur (Nagaland), Nov 6: Three exceptional musicians with immense experience in choir conducting and voice from Latvia have landed here in the state on Saturday.
Latvian ambassador, Artis Bertulis, and the musicians comprising of Eglis Jakobsons, Inta Kamarute, and Gints Ceplenieks would be conducting master classes while also leading master classes to local musicians/teachers for four days in Dimapur on choir conducting and voice and finally wrapping up the project workshop with a concert in Kohima.
The visiting Latvians would be conducting the intensive workshop from November 8 to 11.
The workshop is an outcome of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the government of Nagaland and the Embassy of Latvia to India on October 2, 2020, announcing a partnership between the Riga Cathedral Choir School, Latvia, and TaFMA, as institutional partners to pursue ways and means for artistic pursuits and the exchange of knowledge and cultural programmes between Latvia and Nagaland.
This project takes place within the framework of the “MoU” on the promotion of cooperation in the fields of music and culture concluded in between the government of Nagaland and Latvia.
