Shillong (Meghalaya), Sep 11 : Laitkor pulled off a stunning 3-1 upset against league leaders Nangkiew Irat at the SSA Stadium here . Nangkiew Irat took an early lead through Himanshu Patil in just 45 seconds, but Laitkor fought back with goals from Batkyrshan Kharkongor and Wadskhem Marbaniang before halftime to take a 2-1 lead. The match took a dramatic turn with torrential rain hitting the ground in the second half, but Laitkor sealed the win with Felixdarren Suting’s goal in the 76th minute.
The loss marked Nangkiew Irat’s first defeat of the season, having won three and drawn one of their previous four games. Despite the setback, Nangkiew Irat still holds the top spot with 10 points, but they could be overtaken by second-placed Mawlai (9 points) and Shillong Lajong (8 points) in the upcoming matches.
