Shillong ( Meghalaya), March 23 : The Jaiñtia National Council (JNC) has criticized the state government for neglecting youth employment issues, saying it’s a reason why many young people face risks outside Meghalaya. This comes after East Jaiñtia Hills District Police rescued a woman from Ahmedabad, Gujarat, who went missing on March 15.
JNC appreciated the police’s swift action and thanked MLA Kong Santa Mary Shylla for her help. However, Vice President Nangjan Dkhar stated the incident reflects government failure to address youth employment and safety.

The JNC has demanded job reservation policies for local youths and urged young people to be cautious about job offers outside the state.
