Shillong ( Meghalaya), Jan 30 : A low -intensity IED blast occurred at Police Bazar area here this evening at around 6.30 pm.
The blast took place near a business establishment named Delhi Mistan Bhandar.
There has been no report of any casualty during the blast.
Police Bazar is the commercial hub and is situated in the heart of the capital city .
A bomb disposal squad immediately rushed to blast site . An electronic shop dealing with mobile phones was partially damaged .

Majority of the shops were closed today due to the Sunday lockdown imposed due to surge of Covid -19 cases in the state .
Police cordoned off the area immediately after the blast and no organisation has so far claimed the responsibility. .
Chief Minister , Conrad Sangma has condemned the blast, He tweeted , “An attempt to disrupt peace and bring harm is nothing but a cowardly act. Perpetrators will not be spared. We will ensure peace prevails in the State.”
