Shillong ( Meghalaya), Feb 7 : The members of Hynniewtrep Youth Council(HYC) ,Mawiong Unit today detained 15 construction workers entering Shillong without proper documents.
These workers were supposed to work with a contractor engaged in construction work at the North Eastern Indira Gandhi Regional Institute of Health and Medical Sciences at Maw-diang-diang in New Shillong.
The workers were detained by its President, D. Iawphniaw and Vice President J. Sohtun after receiving information that the laboures after reaching Mawiong by a Night Super were waiting to be picked up by three local taxis.
Speaking to the media, the leaders said the workers did not possess any work permit, Covid test report and police verification documents .
