Shillong (Meghalaya),Nov 7 : Shillong came alive with melodic voices on Nov 7, as YMCA Shillong, in partnership with the Department of Arts and Culture, Meghalaya, hosted the Open Western Acapella Choir Competition and Choir Singing Festival. Held at Lariti International Center, the event drew top talent and dignitaries.
Paul Lyngdoh, Minister, Department of Arts and Culture, praised the stakeholders for promoting choir singing among Meghalaya’s youths. He announced plans to make this event an annual affair to nurture local talent.
F.R. Kharkongor, IAS, emphasized the impact of music on youth development and community building.
The festival showcased breathtaking performances, cementing Shillong’s reputation as a hub for musical excellence.
