Tura (Meghalaya), March 23: The Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC) has made a landmark decision, amending its rules to require ST (Scheduled Tribe) certification for candidates contesting Council elections.
This move, hailed as a historic moment, aims to ensure true representation of the Garo people and strengthen community leadership.
