Shillong (Meghalaya), Feb 20 : In line with the Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat initiative of the Government of India, aimed at strengthening connections and fostering mutual understanding among people from various states and Union Territories, a cultural evening was held at Raj Bhavan Shillong to celebrate the Foundation Day of Arunachal Pradesh and Mizoram.
The Governor of Meghalaya, Phagu Chauhan, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.
During the event, the Commissioner and Secretary to the Governor, Dr. B.D.R. Tiwari, IAS, delved into the historical narratives leading to the establishment of these states, while also highlighting their remarkable strengths.
The event also featured vibrant performances, reflecting the rich cultural heritage of Arunachal Pradesh and Mizoram.
This program was organized by Raj Bhavan, Shillong, in collaboration with the Department of Arts and Culture, Government of Meghalaya, along with the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) Shillong.
