Tura (Meghalaya), Dec 1: The 4th edition of the Me•Gong Festival 2024 concluded on Saturday Nov 30, with a spectacular performance by the renowned European rock band, Europe. The event was attended by CM Conrad K Sangma, who welcomed the band and other performers to the state.
CM Sangma acknowledged the significant influence of rock music from the 80s and 90s in the region and expressed his delight at the large turnout of fans from across the country.
Europe’s lead vocalist, Joey Tempest, shared his excitement about performing at the festival, stating that it’s incredible how their music has reached this far corner of the world.
The Me•Gong Festival 2024 featured a lineup of talented artists, including Indus Creed, Euphoria, and local bands from Meghalaya. The event showcased the rich cultural heritage of the Garo people, with traditional music, dance, and food stalls.
