Shillong ( Meghalaya), Jan 11 : The health workers and members of Meghalaya EMRI Workers’ Union today termed the meeting with Meghalaya Health Minister, James K. Sangma as “fruitful”.
The leaders of this union said the Health Minister has assured the Union that the Government is working on their demands and also informed that the Government has provided additional funds to the GVK EMRI to increase their salary.
Speaking to media, Meghalaya EMRI Workers’ Union President Microlena Syiemlieh said “whatever decision that is taken by the Government, we will always accept it , provided that our jobs are secure”.
“The Minister has also assured us that the GVK EMRI contract will be terminated once the contract expires on March 31 , 2022,” added Syiemlieh.
