Shillong (Meghalaya), Jan 23 : A couple , both permanent residents of Meghalaya, sat for a protest today, 23rd January, 2022 coinciding with the birth anniversary of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose from 10.00 am at Police Bazar point below the old assembly gate for the cause of severe atrocities on the Bengali community in particular and all other Non tribal populace of Meghalaya starting from 1979 till January, 20 2022 .
They said number of stabbing incidence and killings have taken place in city but till till date not a single murderer, looters, extortions and many other criminals have not been convicted or given punishment as per the law of Indian constitution by the law enforcing agencies on the pretext of ” unidentified miscreants .
They added that despite being the citizens of India the non -tribals are treated here as third grade populace.
They said that they have the democratic rights to protest against silence by concerned authorities for more than 40 years of atrocities.
They said that till the time Government commit about their fundamental rights and punish those culprits they shall not break their fast.
