New Delhi , Mar 22: The death toll due to Covid -19 in India rose to six on Sunday with the death of a second COVID-19 patient in Maharashtra.
Bihar registered its first death as a 38 -year old Bihar man with travel history to Qatar died in AIIMS Patna on Sunday.
A 63-year-old coronavirus patient died in Mumbai on Sunday, taking the death toll in Maharashtra to two, according to official sources . He was admitted to H N Reliance Hospital here on Saturday.
The patient had a chronic history of diabetes, high blood pressure and ischemic heart disease.
He developed acute respiratory distress syndrome leading to his death, according to an official statement .
Delhi, Karnataka, Punjab have reported one death each so far.
In North Eastern state of Assam , a four-and-a-half year girl from Jorhat who had tested positive of Conona virus on Saturday has tested negative of Covid -19 , virus .
After the child and her family were admitted at an isolation ward in Jorhat Medical college a second round of test was conducted on the child’s samples were found to be negative, according to the Indian Council for Medical Research (ICMR) in Dibrugarh district .
The first test at the Jorhat Medical College in Jorhat had confirmed the child to Corona virus positive .
The number of Covid 19 cases rose to 341 on Sunday after fresh cases were reported from various parts of the country, according to official sources .
