Shillong (Meghalaya), Dec 19: In a major development ahead of the Autonomous District Councils election in Meghalaya, the Meghalaya Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) today announced its list of candidates for the upcoming polls.
The Congress Party has finalized 15 candidates for the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) and 11 candidates for the Jaintia Hills Autonomous District Council (JHADC).
According to a press release issued by the MPCC, the candidates were selected after a rigorous process involving the Block Congress Committees (BCC), District Congress Committees (DCC), and the Pradesh Election Committee (PEC).
The selected candidates represent a blend of fresh faces, qualified professionals, and individuals trained to serve effectively in their roles.
The Congress Party has expressed confidence that its candidates will emerge victorious in the polls, which are scheduled to be held in February 2025.
