Shillong (Meghalaya), Jan 10: Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma has issued a heartfelt appeal for calm and restraint following the brutal killings in Goalgaon, West Garo Hills, that left an ACHIK NGO member dead. The incident has sparked concerns of escalating tensions, prompting Sangma to urge citizens to maintain peace and trust the legal system to deliver justice.
In a statement, Sangma condemned the heinous act of violence, emphasizing that it has no place in their society. He cautioned against spreading unverified rumors on social media, warning that it could further incite tension and hinder the investigation.
The police have launched a manhunt to apprehend the perpetrators, and efforts are underway to restore calm in the area. As the situation remains sensitive, Sangma’s appeal for peace and cooperation serves as a reminder of the importance of communal harmony in the region.
