Shillong (Meghalaya), Dec 5: In a significant moment for the academic and cultural community, Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma released the book “A Sociological Study of The Khasi Religion” authored by Dr. Sharalyne Khyriemmujat.
The book, published by Cambridge Scholars Publishing House, delves into the traditional Khasi belief system, Ka Niam Khasi.
The launch was attended by CEM KHADC Pyniaid Sing Syiem, and the book was forwarded by the Syiem of Hima Khyrim. Chief Minister Sangma congratulated Dr. Sharalyne on her remarkable achievement, while Dr. Sharalyne expressed her gratitude to the chief minister and the CEM for their support.
Dr. Sharalyne Khyriemmujat, an assistant professor and Head of the Department of Sociology at Shillong College, has made significant contributions to the field of sociology, with publications in esteemed journals . Her PhD research, “A Sociological Study of Ka Niam Khasi,” forms the basis of this book, offering a comprehensive understanding of the Khasi religion and its significance in the region.
