Tura (Meghalaya), July 29: Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma inaugurated two outdoor gyms in Tura, one at Goanang locality and the other at Nehru Park. During the inauguration, he expressed his confidence that these outdoor gyms will greatly benefit the people of Tura town and promote a healthy lifestyle.
The CM also announced that five more open gyms are coming up in Tura town as part of the state government’s initiative to provide citizens with access to fitness infrastructure. Additionally, he informed that the Tura Botanical Garden at Goanang locality is being developed with walking pathways, canopy walk, and a cafeteria at a cost of ₹3.8 crore.
Furthermore, Nehru Park in Tura will be developed with new infrastructure and facilities for recreation, learning, and engagement of visitors.
The CM also laid the foundation stone for additional classrooms at Bidanchi Higher Secondary School and distributed sanction letters to social and educational organizations in Tura. He also inspected the ongoing construction of an Indoor Stadium at Sunny Hills, which is expected to be completed by December for the 39th National Games.
