Shillong (Meghalaya), Oct 14: In a daring operation, the Border Security Force (BSF) Meghalaya foiled a smuggling attempt along the international border of East Jaintia Hills district, Meghalaya, on Sunday, Oct 13, 2024.
Troops of 172 Bn BSF seized IV cannula sets worth over ₹1 crore destined for Bangladesh. The seized goods have been handed over to customs office Badarpur for further action.
This successful operation demonstrates the BSF’s unwavering commitment to securing India’s borders and preventing illegal activities. The BSF has been vigilant in combating smuggling attempts along the Indo-Bangladesh border, with previous seizures including cattle, sugar, and cosmetics valued at over Rs 15 Lakhs.
The BSF’s efforts to curb smuggling and infiltration have been consistent, with recent incidents reported in East Khasi Hills and West Jaintia Hills districts.
