Shillong(Meghalaya), Oct 17 :The Border Security Force (BSF) Meghalaya thwarted an attempt to smuggle Phensedyl cough syrup into Bangladesh. On Wednesday, Oct 16, vigilant troops of the 172 Battalion BSF deployed in East Jaintia Hills district seized 980 bottles of the contraband.
Acting on intelligence inputs , BSF troops spotted suspicious movement near the International Border. Although smugglers escaped into the dense terrain, a thorough search yielded the hidden Phensedyl stash.
The seized bottles were handed over to the Customs Office in Badarpur for further action.
