Shillong (Meghalaya), May 21: – Police arrived on the scene after a body was reported floating down the Umiam River early this morning.
According to official sources the deceased, identified as Ron Cooper Massar – a resident of Umroi Jaiawpdeng under the jurisdiction of Umiam Police Station, is suspected to have drowned.

According to reports,54-year-old Ron Kupar Massar’s relatives filed a report at Umroi Police Investigation Center Monday, May 20, stating that he had been missing since 4 am on Monday after going for morning walk.
Massar was working as a Junior Engineer in Water Conservation, here.
“Preliminarily there were no obvious signs of anything suspicious,” official sources said.
However, an investigation is under progress.
