Shillong ( Meghalaya), Aug 22 : Nine more Covid patients succumbed to their infections in the last 24 hours taking the death toll to 1,261.
6 cases of death were reported from East Khasi Hills , 2 from West Khasi Hills and 1 case from South West Khasi Hills .
According to figures shared by the health department , 317 new cases were detected in the state on Sunday with East Khasi Hills on the top with 184 cases .

382 patients were also discharged on Sunday after full recovery .
The active cases now stand at 3,062 .
