Shillong (Meghalaya), July 11 : 10 more persons tested Covid positive in Shillong on Friday taking the total number of cases in the state to 186 .
The total number of active cases as of now stand at 139 after 45 patients have recovered .
CM Conrad Sangma tweeted, “10 more persons have tested positive in Shillong. 7 of them had returned from Delhi, Kolkata, Guwahati, Chennai etc., 2 of them were high risk contacts of a positive case. 1 more patient at NEIGRIHMS.”
Meanwhile ,in order to prevent an outbreak and spread of the COVID-19 and as a precautionary measures to safeguard the citizens of the State, the Commissioner of Excise, Meghalaya in an order issued has declared the closure of all IMFL “ON” license (Bar) premises throughout the state with effect from 8th July, 2020 to 15th July, 2020 and until further orders.
Moreover,After two people out of the 41 from Shillong who attended the wedding at Greenwood Resort in Khanapara tested positive for Covid-19, the Meghalaya Government asked the DC to file an F.I.R against 41 marriage attendees.
A total of 41 people had attended the wedding party held at Greenwood Resort at Khanapara on June 27, despite the government’s order prohibiting citizens to visit Assam.After the wedding reception held at Greenwood Resort in Assam, there was another reception at Lower Lachaumiere locality of city on July 2.
This decision was taken during the review meeting chaired by Meghalaya CM Conrad Sangma on Friday.
