Shillong (Meghalaya), Oct 24 : One more Covid death was reported in here today taking the total number of death due to Covid in the state to 80 .
According to official sources , the patient has been identified as Limatoshi Ao aged 59 years and hailing from Nongrimbah area of the city . Ao was rushed to Bethany Hospital on Friday evening and was declared brought dead .
He was having Type 2 diabetes and hypertension .
Meanwhile , 81 new Covid cases were detected today which includes 42 from East Khasi Hills, 13 each from West Garo Hills and West Jaintia Hills , 7 from West Khasi Hills , 2 each from East Garo Hills and Ri Bhoi and 1 each from East Jaintia Hills and North Garo Hills .
A total of 137 patients were declared recovered today .
