Shillong ( Meghalaya), April 2 : State’s athletes have brought home a total of 2 Gold and 6 Bronze medals from the Khelo India Tribal Games 2026 held in Chhattisgarh. The gold medals were won by the archery teams, with Kate Diamond Lyngdoh, Nakibansharai Khonghat, and Stracy M Sangma winning in the women’s compound team event, and Phrangkupar Kharjahrin, Banwanbor Marwein, and Donkupar L Shadap taking the men’s compound team event.
The bronze medal winners include:
Weightlifting: Larityngkai Lawriniang (women’s 53kg)
Swimming: Verem Gedaliah Nongsiej (women’s 50m freestyle)
Wrestling: Juh Pa U Juh Nongtdu (men’s 60kg Greco-Roman)
Athletics: Melibad Kro (women’s shot put), Bethlyne G Makri (women’s 10000m race walk), and Balarisha Thyrniang (women’s 10000m race)
