Goeragre(Meghalaya), March 5 : Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma distributed appointment letters to 2,968 newly recruited Meghalaya Police personnel, marking one of the largest inductions into the force. The recruits include Armed Branch Constables, Unarmed Branch Constables, MPRO Operators, Firemen, and other specialised roles.

Sangma described the occasion as historic, saying the recruitment drive received over 1.7 lakh applications. He emphasised the importance of law and order for development and urged recruits to balance authority with humility.
Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong congratulated the recruits, assuring fair and merit-based recruitment processes.
