Kokrajhar (Assam),Dec 29: The six government nominated members to the Bodoland Territorial Council Legislative Assembly(BTCLA) took oath as members of the BTC Legislative Assembly on Tuesday at a programme held at BTCLA auditorium Hall here .
The members have been nominated by Governor from the unrepresented communities in the region .
BTC Legislative Assembly Secretary Dr Sanatan Deka administered the oath to the government nominated members in the presence of CEM Pramod Boro,deputy CEM Gabinda Chandra Basumatary,BTCLA speaker Katiram Boro.
The nominated members include two women representatives.
The newly nominated members are Wilson Hasda(Santhal),Madhav Chandra Chetry(Gorkha),Sampawati Deka(Sarania Kochary),Pradip Kumar Bayan(Keot),Hemanta Kumar Rabha(Rabha) and Arpana Medhi(General).
Chetry took oath in Nepali language while Wilson Hasda took oath in Santhali language and remaining four in Assamese language.
With this ,the BTC Legislative Assembly has 46 full fledged members which includes six government nominated members.
Attending the swearing-in-ceremony of government nominated members Pramod Boro said that today BTC Legislative Assembly gets full fledged house with the new nominated members taking oath as members.
He alleged that the previous BPF led government in BTC had not nominated members in the council which had deprived the unrepresented communities in the council.
He said that the UPPL-BJP-GSP coalition government is dedicated to enhance development welfare in the council region .
“We must work as a team for healthy development and welfare among the society. We are committed to work for people’s welfare”, Boro said.
He said that the BTC Secretariat must have digitalised system of functioning in the coming days so that the citizens gets a taste of good governance and development.
He said that he has been visiting all line departmental offices in the districts to take stock of the departmental activities and projects initiated by the council administration.
He announced that departmental portfolios would be allotted among the inducted executive members of the BTC council by the first week of Jan besides five more executive members would be inducted soon .
Boro said that his government has requested an increase of two more executive member’s berth in the BTC executive council and accordingly a letter has been sent to the concerned authorities .
Chetry and Hasda extended their sincere gratitude to the CEM for nominating them as member of the BTC Legislative Assembly.
Hasda said that UPPL-BJP-GSP coalition government is committed to work for the people’s welfare and development services in the areas and accordingly nominated members from the unrepresented communities.
