Guwahati ( Assam ), Feb 21 : Don Bosco School , Pan Bazar here has been declared a ‘containment zone ‘ after two teachers were tested Covid positive .
The school has been declared as a ‘containment zone’ for the next one week and the on – going annual examinations of the school has been postponed until further notice .
The Deputy commissioner of Kamrup Metro B . Pegu in an order said : “In view of detection of COVID-19 positive teachers at Don Bosco School, Guwahati, the Kamrup Metropolitan district in the interest of the maintenance of public hygiene and to prevent further spread of COVID-19 virus amongst the teaching staff and students, the entire area of the school premises is declared as Containment Zone for next seven days w.e.f. today and the Circle Officer, Guwahati Revenue Circle is directed to seal the area immediately”.
The order further stated that any unauthorized entry and exit into the notified Containment Zone are barred for the next seven days.
Any movement of any unauthorized individual and vehicle within the notified area is also prohibited with immediate effect, the order stated .
The order was issued under The Assam COVID-19 Regulations, 2020” and shall remain effective from February 21-27, 2021.
In the order, the deputy commissioner directed the teachers to attend the school for COVID-19 test at 10:00 am on Monday .
The test will be carried out by a team deployed by the joint director of health services in Kamrup Metro district.
For this purpose, the principal of the school will arrange a separate place outside the school campus, the order said.
In case of students, if they suffer from COVID19 symptoms, the guardians will arrange COVID-19 tests for their wards in their nearby health institutions immediately, added the order .
Any violation of the order will attract action under the provision of “The Assam COVID-19 Regulations, 2020 and “Disaster Management Act, 2005, “The Epidemic Disease Act, 1897” and other relevant laws of the nation.
