Kokrajhar (Assam),Sept 25: Various organization and political parties including United People’s Party Liberal(UPPL), All Bodo Students Union(ABSU) have welcomed and have sent extended congratulations to the BTR accord signatories and thanked the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal and Governor of Asssm for initiating steps for implementation of all the main clauses of BTR accord.
UPPL president Pramod Boro welcomed the renaming of BTC as BTR from today as per the spirit of BTR accord implementation and thanked the Prime Minister Narendra Modi,chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal and Governor of Assam for taking bold initiatives to implement the various clauses of BTR accord.
Addressing reporters at a press conference held at party office here today in , Pramod Boro welcomed the constitution of four member commission formed with PP Verma(retired IAS) to include and exclude the villages in the BTR( Bodoland Territorial Region) in the coming days.
He said that today is very important for the region as the clauses of the BTR accord have started getting implemented .
Boro who is one of signatories of the BTR accord, said that clauses of BTR accord is going to be implemented in phased manner starting from today.
He extended congratulations to all the four factions of the NDFB, ABSU and UBPO leaders for their role in the implementation of the accord .
Boro urged the centre to ensure cent percent implementation of the BTR accord.
He said that the government had recently assured to implement some of the clauses of the BTR accord within one month, and today government has shown it’s sincerity towards the implementation of the historic BTR accord.
Boro expressed was hopeful that UPPL is going to win majority seats in the ensuing BTC council elections as citizens from various corners are coming forward to extend support and assured to vote in favour of the UPPL party’s candidates. He said that BPF party has failed to work for the citizens in their 17 years of misrule in the BTAD administration.
Addressing the reporters at a Press Conference held at Bodofa House here today ,vice president of ABSU Jayanta Basumatary said all clauses of the BTR accord would be getting implemented through the spirit of BTR accord in coming days.
He said that the Bodo Kochary Welfare Autonomous Council(BKAC) would be created within a short span of time .
“We are very happy with formation of commission in the BTR as they are likely to complete the process of implementation within six months”, Basumatary said.
