Kokrajhar (Assam),Feb 3: Massive preparations are underway for the visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Feb 7 in Assam’s Kokrajhar district to celebrate the third Bodo peace accord that created Bodoland Territorial Region(BTR) after signing of a tripartite accord on Jan 27 last.
The PM’s main programme is being organised at Jangkhritai Pwthar near new flyover covering over thousand of bigha here where he would accorded a warm welcome for his role in bringing back peace in the region .
The programme is being jointly organising by centre,state government and Bodo accord signatories including All Bodo Students Union,all factions of the National Democratic Front of Boroland(NDFB) to mark the signing of the historic third Bodo accord.
Necessary preparation and arrangements including helipad,main pandal, roads have been made at the venue and is being strictly guarded by the security forces .
PM Modi would arriving to Kokrajhar in a helicopter in the morning of Feb 7 to attend the grand celebration .
According to the organisers , more than five lakh people from across the state are likely to be present during the mega event.
The District administration and police have so far deployed a strong security network in the district to ensure a peaceful environment during the PM visit.
Several rounds of meetings with the concerned departmental heads for the PM visit was organised at Circuit House in Kokrajhar on Monday which was chaired by deputy commissioner,Kokrajhar Partha Pratim Majumdar.
A team from SPG is arriving in here on Tuesday to stock of the preparations and the arrangements.
Assam Finance and Education minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma would be camping in Kokrajhar from Tuesday to take stock on the preparation till the completion of the PM visit.
Several leaders from ABSU,civil society groups including Pramod Boro, former Rajya Sabha MP UG Brahma,BTC administration members are rendering all support and help to ensure success of the mega rally .
Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal,BTC chief Hagrama Mohilary,leaders from all groups National Democratic Front of Bodoland (NDFB) would be attending the grand celebration.
“The PMs programme would be witnessed by more than five lakhs as entire Bodo society is just waiting to celebrate the Bodo accord in a grand manner . We are ensuring necessary arrangements and preparations in a speedy manner”,said ABSU president Pramod Boro.
Meanwhile,the All Bodo Students Union thanked the Government of India and Assam for inking the BTR Accord with the Bodoland Movement groups on January 27 last.
ABSU has appealed to all communities of Bodoland region to come at the grand BTR Accord celebration and welcome Prime Minister of India at the programme venue.
” This day is going to be historic and significant day for the Bodoland to have PM amidst the dawn of permanent peace in the entire northeastern India”,a press statement from ABSU said .
