Kokrajhar (Assam),April 20: Former general secretary of National Democratic Front of Boroland-Dhiren Boro faction(NDFB) anf ex finance secretary of NDFB (Progressive), Janardan Basumatary alias B.Detsung passed away his morning at his residence in Udalguri .
Basumatary was suffering from lung cancer and was undergoing treatment for the past the past few years.
The end came around 5 am this morning . He was 55.
He is survived by his wife and two daughters and host of relatives.
He had dedicated his life to the cause of the Bodoland revolution and had served as the NDFB (P) as the Finance Secretary and later he became the General Secretary of the Dhiren Boro faction NDFB.
The All Bodo Students Union(ABSU) in a statement has mourned the untimely demise of the fromer rebel leader

Various organisations including Bodo Sahitya Sabha, Bodo Writers Academy, BPF, UPPL and many other Bodo leaders have extended their condolences and prayed for eternal peace of the soul.
