Guwahati (Assam), June 6 : A total of 128 new cases were detected today taking the total figures to 2243 .
Of the latest 90 new cases , 37 are from Dhubri, 15 from Dima Hasao, 7 from Karimganj , 7 from Cachar , 7 from Baksa , 6 from Hailakandi, 3 from Udalguri, 2 from South Salmara, 2 from Dhemaji and 1 each from Nalbari, Barpeta, Bongaigaon and Chirang .
Meanwhile , after detection positive cases at Central Jail and Krishna Nagar locality in Maligaon in the capital city , the administration have declared new containment zones in the city.
The residence of one Hiren Teron and coffee board office to the North of Central Jail has been declared new containment zone.
In Maligaon area in the city , Krishna Nagar Road to the north, Mitha Arntol to the south, Adingiri Village to the east and Gosala-Adingirio Road to the west of Gosala has been declared as containment zones.
Unauthorized entry and exit into these zones have been barred till the areas are declared safe as per guidelines of the union health ministry.
Health Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted at 11.05 pm , ”📌Alert ~ 90 new cases of #COVID19+. 37 Dhubri, 15 Dima Hasao, 7 Karimganj, 7 Cachar, 7 Baksa, 6 Hailakandi, 3 Udalguri, 2 S Salmara, 2 Dhemaji, 1 each Nalbari/Barpeta/Bongaigaon/Chirang
