Kokrajhar (Assam),Mar 16: United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL), president and former Bodo students leader Pramod Boro filed his nomination papers before the assistant returning officer at Tamulpur today for the upcoming council elections slated to be in on April 4 from Goybari constituency in Baksa district .
Boro reached Target sub-divisional(civil) along with thousands of party supporters and well wishers after a massive rally.He was accompanied by senior UPPL party leader UG Brahma,former ABMSU leader Nazrul Islam and several other party leaders.
Boro was greeted by party leaders and well wishers while filing his nomination papers and the scene virtually resembled like a festival in the area.
Boro said that he has decided to contest after getting support and blessings from his supporters ,irrespective of caste and creed and religion.
He said that this time around peoples will be voting in favour of UPPL for ‘parivartan’ and development in the region.He said that the voters have realized that ‘ parivartan’ was the need of the hour.
He was confident that UPPL is winning with majority and would be forming the next council .
BPF candidate for Mushalpur constituency and sitting BTC executive member Ansumwi Khunggur Boro also filed his nomination papers before the assistant returning officer at Mushalpur .
He was accompanied by senior party leader like Maneswar Brahma and Thaneswar Basumatary.
Boro said that his victory in certain as people from all walks of life are participating and supporting his candidature .
Meanwhile, the UPPL today announced the names of 16 more candidate’s for the council elections slated to be held on April 4 next.
Party general manager and BTC MCLA Maoti Brahma announced the names of the candidate’s . Two constituencies,namely Fakiragram and Koklabari have been left left out u from the list as of now .The candidates of the two seats is likely be declared on Tuesday.
Hazoary said that the party was confident of winning majority seats in the council elections and UPPL would be forming the next council as all sections of the communities are extending strong support to the UPPL.
